Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

But the fire, is so delightful!

White Christmases are a rarity here in Oklahoma, so when we heard forecasts of a major winter storm coming on Christmas eve, we were pretty skeptical. Happily, the reports were true!

Last night while browsing One Pretty Thing (if you don't visit this site regularly you are missing out; it is one of my favorite resources and an excellent place to gain inspiration!), I came across this tutorial for hand embroidery of monograms. I've been wanting to personalize my girls stockings, and this idea was genius! A perfect project for a day trapped inside by the warmth of the fire...

I was able to hand embroider my girls names in my absolute favorite font: Gessele.
I don't think I will ever pay to have a name monogrammed again!

All ready for Santa!

Merry Christmas!

Oh my gosh! My family is so snowed in down there! But I have to say, since you mentioned the rarity of it all, I do remember one Christmas when we actually turned on the A/C so that we could have a fire in the fireplace! Oh the memories. Merry Christmas!
