Contentment

All too often, I find myself dwelling on all of the things I don't have: a bigger house, a nicer car, a new purse... And in doing so, I forget about all the ways that God has blessed me (which are many).

Paul wrote in Philippians 4:12, "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

The irony, however, is that I am living "in plenty." I have just had a covetous attitude. So, in an effort to live a more thankful and content life, I decided to take a look at all the things around my house that I love, rather than focus on what I don't like or want to change.

AMEN, sister! LOVE your black-n-white collage of your favorite things!! Great idea! I might have to copy that sometime! I'm SO behind on bloggin' . . . hopefully, I can catch up this evening! (I have a TON of pictures from our camping trip . . . Imagine that!!)

Thanks for reminding us all that we have so much. I love to decorate and redo and improve as much as the next gal; however, it can not come at the expense of our families' present or our future.
