How to Make a Flower Headband

The first project on my Easter accessories list has been completed:

A Flower Headband!

Assembling this headband took less than five minutes.
And cost less than $1! Boutiques are asking $10-20 for similar styles.

Step 1: Deconstruct silk floral bouquet.
Step 2: Stack petals to desired thickness.
(I used two silk flowers to create one giant bloom)
Step 3: Insert a scrapbooking brad through the flower's center.
Step 4: Hot glue flower to side of headband.
(Be careful of placement; too high on top looks a little silly.)
Step 5: Add stability by gluing a circle of coordinating felt to the underside of the headband.

Done!

Also, while I was out at shopping yesterday, I came across these little crocheted hats and accompanying flower clips at Hobby Lobby:

I have seen very similar items (if not the exact same product!) at all kinds of baby stores and craft fairs for around twenty dollars, but I had no idea Hobby Lobby had them available for you to assemble yourself. At $3.99 a piece (and significantly cheaper if you use the printable 40% off coupon!) this is a great way to get the boutique look for less. (And no, I am not being paid by Hobby Lobby to advertise - I just love a good deal and had to pass it on!)

Thanks for the how too. I think I will use this to make a flower pin. I have been wanting a big one to wear on t-shirts.
Thanks
Pam

I love it! I've been doing this, but my hot glue never seems to stay and the flowers pop off. Am I doing something wrong or do I just have cheap hot glue sticks?

What section of Hobby Lobby are the hats in?

The crocheted headbands and flowers are in the Wearable Art Department in the Baby Section. Next month they are adding a whole section of adult hair decor too. It will include headbands, feathers, and flowers of all kinds. They will have clips and pins on the back so you can decorate not only headbands, but also sweaters, purses, shoes etc.
