Impulsive Imagination

Have you ever gone into a craft store with no plan in mind whatsoever?
And whilst browsing, have you come upon an everyday craft item,
(that just happens to be on a great sale)
and spontaneously devise a plan to create a new project around that item?

Then do you hurry home to implement your idea IMMEDIATELY?

Hmmm.
Have you ever done that?

I never have.

Ha.

Actually that is the basis for so many things I've made. The problem is, that while the spontaneity is exciting, many of these sort of projects don't quite reach my expectations.

Something about the lack of planning almost always leads to disappointing results.

Hopefully that is not the case this time! I found these large canvases (16"x20") for a great price, and wondered how I could use them. Remembering how bare my daughter's walls are, I formulated my plan. All that I will say for now is that I am done painting. Only the backdrop of the art was painted on - the next step is to add ruffles (of course).

Now to implement! Wish me luck - I hope to come back to you with a successful finished product (if you never hear from me again on this topic, just assume the worst).

Funny, I bought canvases today too. I have NEVER purchased one (or 4) before, but thought that I could come up with something, hopefully in time for Christmas. Good luck with your project and even if it doesn't turn out the way you hope, will you please share your idea? I need all the help I can get. ;0)

Hi...I can't wait to see what you do with these. I have some blank canvases that have been stored in my closet for months now...awaiting inspiration!! Anyway, I am sure your finished product will look amazing...as all of your projects do.

BTW, I just realized today that you had commented on my cake blog the other day. I didn't have my settings to notify me but now I do...sorry I didn't respond until now. Thanks so much for the sweet comment.

Have a great week!!

I just wanted to let you know that I just came across your blog at 11pm the night before Thanksgiving. I should be asleep, but no, I'm scrolling through your past blog entries and feel the need to head to Michaels NOW!! And knowing they will be closed tomorrow is not making me happy either. I can't wait to get back home and to start making things!! Yeah! Oh, and my name is Sara. SAHM of two yr old twin girls.

I'm looking forward to seeing them on her walls. As for impulse shopping in a craft store, that's how I get into big trouble!

Love those impulse crafts that you sit back and wonder "What now?" Haha! Good luck!
