I cannot believe that a week has passed since my last post. I have been so busy being crafty that I haven't had time to talk about my craftiness.
Remember when I said that Heather Bailey's latest fabric line tempted me to redecorate? I succumbed to that temptation in my daughter's room. Since I have been working on a quilt for her bed using the fabric, I decided that everything needed to be revamped. And the long weekend afforded me the perfect opportunity to paint our daughter's room.
We wanted to simplify the tiny space, so we painted the area above the molding a nice crisp white (a perfect backdrop for bright accessories), and the lower half of the wall tutti frutti pink.
After glittering a few more birds, I painted a metal wreath form white, and attached the birds with fishing wire. They look adorable as they "fly" above the bed.
My final project is only half completed, and is a gift for my youngest daughter's upcoming 3rd birthday. I am very excited to show you the finished product. Any guesses of what it could be?

I love the mobile! I can't wait to see her whole room all put together:) The pink is so fun and bright and the quilt will look amazing with it!
I love how the bird mobile turned out- I had my doubts after the first post, but it's super cute. I'm going to look into if something flocked would work in my son's jungle-themed room.
I'm going to guess castle, but it's probably a lousy guess.
Love the bird mobile - it turned out great! I'm guessing some type of lovely bulletin board that I'm going to want for my little girl's room.
No way is "C" already going to be three. That can't be! :)
I love the room! The mobile is a great idea =) I noticed a small dollhouse on your daughter's house shelf thing, and its the same little doll house that my daughter has! She plays with it all the time with her Polly Pocket dolls since they are small.
I have to admit, when I first saw your glittered birds, I didn't get it. Though that might be partly because I'm really not into birds or bird-themed things in decorating. I display a few eggs around Easter time, and that's about it.
But that mobile is adorable! Now I get it!
My girls and I are starting a glittery flower mobile for their room. I'm also working on matching quilts for their bunkbeds, which sparked the whole "search for decorating ideas". I'm going to guess that you're making a dollhouse?
Love the birds!
You have motivated me! I have been talking about re-doing my girls' rooms all summer. After seeing your daughter's I'm going out looking for paint tomorrow. I love the glitter bird mobile, it looks so great.
A dollhouse, perhaps?
I love the glittery birds -- you inspired me. I'm making a fall branch display (tonight, actually) with a painted and glittered dove (I'm painting him burgundy). :)
Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm guessing...dollhouse?
The mobile came out really cute. Great job. I'm going to go add your blinkie to my blog. I just saw it--cool!
love the birds! can't wait to see what you're making for your daughter's 3rd birthday ... my guess is a dollhouse, but i'm not sure!!!
You are some kind of craft magician.
:)
LOVE that color of pink in G's room; can't wait to see it when it all comes together . . . her room will be quite the 'retreat'! =)
Hi Kristin,
Very cute.
