100th Post Giveaway!

They seem to be pretty popular around here lately; in fact, a lot of my traffic can be attributed directly to that tutorial

What a better way to celebrate 100 posts than by giving a set away?!

They are 5 x 7" and 4 x 6" and are great to use as journals, idea books, etc.

All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what your favorite craft is. What project have you made that induced pride in your handy-work, not to mention compliments from friends and family? (I'm not fishing for ideas for future posts.)

Leave your comment by Monday morning, when I will announce the winner!

I love the notebooks. You have inspired me so much... I have tried projects I never thought I would.

My favorite project to do (which I do often) is diaper bags for friends. It is a low-cost, but very personal gift to make and give. The bad part is I don't usually want to give them away when I am done!

I don't know if this is a craft or not, but I love designing my children's bedrooms. We're expecting baby3 in a few weeks and I'm excited to be doing another nursery.
I read your archives last night and went out today and bought my first ever "modpodge" and the initial of my daughter - I just covered it with one kind of paper because I'm a newbie, but it turned out great!! Thanks for the inspiration!!

My favorite craft was the name badge protector scrapbooks (you posted 8/3/08). I made some as party favors for my daughter's 4th birthday on 8/28. Everyone loved them, and I got to use some of those gazillion wallet size portraits I had from years 1 through 3. I made one for her to keep and I think it will be a great keepsake for years to come! Thanks!!

I do computer crafts, most especially personalized candy wrappers, buttons and personlized gift cans.

I made a gift can for our friends when their daughter was born that turned out GREAT! I filled it with plenty of goodies and topped it with a pink bear and lots of ribbons. I was so proud of myself! It turned out so much better then I could ever imagine.

My favorite crafts I made was for a gift...a needlepoint Peter Rabbit pillow/doorstop for my sister's babyshower, along with a baby blanket I made with one side fleece with sweet bunnies and one side soft minky, nubby fabric. I then bound it with a satin ribbon edging. Sometimes I feel like I should visit it! Loved it.

De-lurking from this side of the computer. I have that tutorial saved as a favorite so when I have a chance I can make some too. I dabble in a lot of crafts (beading, knitting, crochet, sewing) but I must say that my proudest is the sewing because I just learned how to sew this summer. I've had a machine for years but was intimidated by it. Now I'm making tote bags, zippered clutches, quilts. I'm very proud to have overcome my fear of my sewing machine.

Thanks for the giveaway and the reminder of wanting to make these notebooks!

My favorite craft is making the clipboards - as evident by my Sept 1st blog. It was so much fun I invited my sister and niece over and they had a blast, too! Also, I made one for my friend who is a RN and she loved it! Nurses always need something to write all of their notes on. Other than that, I love to scrapbook and am in a scrapbook group! I'd love to win and show off my new journals!

i have recently become addicted to making your decoupaged notebooks after seeing the tutorial.
i would love to have these, made by the original decoupage queen!

Shannon Willcutt said...

Love these...I have tried them myself, but yours are way cuter! I think one reason that mine didn't turn out just so is that I used wrapping paper, which is so much thinner than scrapbook paper. I am going to make one for my sister and send it to her in Texas, so I think I will try thicker paper.

My favorite craft is handpainting canvases. I have done some here and there...I do them for each holiday and hang them in the middle of an old set of glass cabinet doors that I have hanging in my living room. I also have made several for gifts...babies being born, birthdays, etc. Mommies use them on their hospital room doors, then later in the nursery. I always like to include a Bible verse or spiritual saying on them.

Have a great weekend!

I hope scrapbooking counts!
Also card making some.

Well I turned a couple of old Tshirts that an ink pen exploded on into T-shirt bags. One hangs in our pantry and holds potatoes (plus since tis the season zucchini).

I have a pic on my blog where the baby was put in the bag with her diaper stash on a day trip. http://thedcookshouse.blogspot.com/2008/09/so-this-is-from-trip-to-family-farm.html

Easy, and a great use for old Tshirts that you can't really wear. Or maybe outgrown ones if you have kids? Making little tote bags or something.

Unknown said...

My favorite craft right now is sewing...although, I haven't had much time with a newborn and a two year old! My current favorite project is a curtain I made for our kitchen door. I've gotten quite a few compliments, and it does look goof - if I do say so myself. :)

I found an old silver tray at an estate sale and it was all scratched up in the middle. I used leftover fabric from the duvet I'd made for the guest room and decopaged it on the interior of the tray for a cute magnetic memo board. the outside is the pretty scalloped edge of the tray. It looks so cute on the wall in the room and serves as my reminder for monogramming orders (I keep my machines in that room too.)

Well, I am duly impressed with your beautiful notebooks!

I actually have a couple of favorites that I end up making as a sort of therapy on a regular basis. :) (With 2 gorgeous daughters, 6 & 3, adopted from Ethiopia, I need the therapy! Haha) We make jam 3 times a year and make our own label featuring a recent photo of my daughters on it. I make jewelry out of Ethiopian coins and vintage beads. My favorite, though, is making memory cookbooks from my family's recipes and photos. Made one called Cinnamon Rolls and Tea Parties about my grandmothers, handbound it and gave it for holiday gifts to relatives last year. I'm making Ethiopian cookbooks this year.
