Mmm, that pincushion looks scrumptious!

Have I told you that I hate clutter? It really stresses me out to see piles (that doesn't mean that they don't happen) of stuff that is no longer useful. I am known for my plastic bag-in-hand rants through my home searching for things to throw or give away. And I always feel better when I am done; lighter, sort of.

Ok, what does that have to do with delicious pincushions, you ask?

Well, the pincushions (designed by Betz White, in her book Warm Fuzzies) are made from cast-off sweaters. I don't keep cast-off sweaters. Remember, my rants? If I haven't worn them in a while, I give them away!

Luckily, I have been reading her blog for a while now, and was inspired to rescue a few sweaters before they met their doom in a plastic bag.

I was able to finish this little cupcake in a very short amount of time (don't we all love instant gratification without calories involved), and I didn't even need to get my sewing machine out. Everything was hand-stitched or glued.

Run as fast as you can to your nearest bookstore or library, because Warm Fuzzies is full of so many cute ideas for turning your old sweaters into adorable new items. I already have plans for the remainder of my sweaters; you'll be sure to know how it turns out!

Hi Kristin, Thanks so much for entering my giveaway. Jenny has been very kind to me, you're a lucky girl to have her as a friend! I love the sweater cupcakes! I can NOT sew a stitch to save my life! Maybe I'll try ALL glued cupcake hmmmm? Good Luck in the giveaway!

This is my first time visiting your blog and I love it! I'm going now to find some of my old sweaters (somewhere I think in the dark corners of my closet...) thanks for sharing.

I plan on having a cupcake themed party for my daughter's first birthday -- wouldn't these be great decorations and/or goodies to give away to guests . . . hmmmm . . . gonna check out that book!
