The "Shoppe" is Open!

Remember when I worked on a purse called the "buttercup bag" and I just couldn't stop?
And remember when I made a few (dozen) flower pins?

Both crafts were obviously addicting...

Like any junkie, I had to figure out a way to feed that addiction...

Flower pins + Buttercup bags = Perfection

Despite months and months of protest at the idea of ever opening a shop of my own, this crafty combo (the perfect bag with the perfect accessory), has made me eat my words. Now I can pursue my addiction with gusto (after all, I can only justify so many bags for my personal use!)

I am very excited about the design that I have chosen to focus on (pattern from Rae Hoekstra of Made by Rae). The enlarged version of the Buttercup bag is the perfect size to tote around everything a woman needs to get through her day.

Each purse is constructed from 100% cotton canvas and lined with a bold graphic print. I specifically chose canvas as the exterior of the bag because of its effortlessness (it will go with everything) and durability (you can throw it in the wash!).

The bag's interiors are a surprise element; peeking from the inside of the strap or the top of the bag - the lining provides a striking juxtaposition to the simplicity of the exterior.

A coordinating flower pin adds a pop of color and femininity (plus, the flower can be removed for washing or to simplify the look of the bag).

I would love for you to check out my new Etsy shop, and let me know what you think! I have more bags in the works, and will add them to the inventory soon. I appreciate your feedback!

Wow, your bags are gorgeous and the pin just adds the right amount of that extra something special. Having just started sewing, these bags look flawless to me and I aspire to make it to where you are now. Good luck with your shop, I'm sure it will be a smashing success.

Man! If only our budget wasn't so tight I'd buy one of these in a nano-second. VERY cute. I might have to try to save up my money to buy one. I'm envisioning some very cute fall colors. A nice chocolate brown with a bold color on the inside with a matching flower. Very cute.

I love your blog and am excited to see you marketing your great creations. I have bought a couple of purses off etsy and my only suggestion would be to include a "shoulder view" pic (you sideways with the purse on your shoulder). I always like to see how the bag will hang on my arm. Good luck!!
