I took a longer break than I anticipated. Turns out that swine flu (and a host of other minor distractions) isn't that conducive to creative thinking! Who knew?! (Thus far, only my youngest has been hit with the dreaded infirmity and she's doing great now!)
I'm ready to rejoin the land of the living, and ruffles were just the thing to get me crafting again.
"Ruffles?" you ask.
Yes, ruffles!
Have you noticed that they have been everywhere for the last season or so, and are even more popular this fall? I love the trend, and this weekend I dragged out my sewing machine for several ruffly creations!
The following links are a few things that inspired the projects that I will be posting about later in the week.
Come window shop with me:
So simple. So sweet.
Better hurry and snatch this up; with it's $525 pricetag, its a steal of a deal. Ha!
I need this. It will become my signature piece.
People will call me "the girl with the ruffly jacket."
(name that book reference)
Perfect for fall.
Buying these would actually be a THRIFTY choice,
because I wouldn't need another pair of shoes all year.
Right?
Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my chin.
Be sure to check back throughout the week for my ruffly creations. And thanks for sticking with me through my little dry spell - I really appreciate it!

I literally GASPED when I read "RUFFLE WEEK"!!! I've been studying blogs, tutorials, pictures, and whatnot trying to figure out how to do some ruffle embellishing. I'm a complete and utter BEGINNER with my borrowed sewing machine.
You always make things easy to understand--I'M SO EXCITED!!!
Oh how I adore ruffles! I'm working on a few ruffle-y aprons right now, so I can't wait to see what you'll make!
YEAH YEAH YEAH- YOU ARE BACK....and with my 2nd biggest infatuation -RUFFLES!!(second only to fabric flowers of course) Glad to see you back in action! How is baby girl?
Aw, I'm loving the ruffles!!
That pillow...be still my heart :)
I'm also currently ruffle-afflicted...and am NOT looking for a cure for the disease :)
I'm going to have to say "Confessions of a Shopoholic." Although it's been years since I read it, that just sounds like a Rebecca Bloomwood thing to say.
Also, I hope our little Chlo feels better soon! What a crummy way to start the year.
"The Girl with the Pearl Earring!"
I keep seeing all these ruffly pillows, and loving them all. I'm going to have to make one.
Every time I see a ruffle foot, I am tempted to buy one. Then the $30 price tag and the fact that I know I would ruin at least 2 projects trying to figure it out, scares me. But, yay you will teach me how! Or at least give enough tips that I won't ruin projects!
Glad you are back..We missed you. I can't wait to see what ruffles you do. I just did a pillow last week or so with ruffles. So fun...

I can't wait, I adore everything ruffle-y! And those boots are fab - definitely the thrifty choice! Hope your little one is all better now and that no one else in your family catches it :)

!!
not sure about the book reference - but sounds like something i'd like to read! :D
I'm hoping you're going to make a ruffle-y apron! Saw the most adorable one at Pier 1 this weekend. Can't wait to see what you're "ruffling up!"
I am so glad you are back! I am sorry you have had sickness in your family.
I'm so glad your back. I've missed your insperation but I do understand that family comes first. I'M looking forward to your ruffles.
i love the chair! i love love love the pillows you made too!
Definitely Confessions of a Shopaholic! Always made me simultaneously laugh and roll my eyes whenever Becky would have that fantasy in her head of what people would call her whenever she saw something new that she wanted.
Looking forward to Ruffle Week.
i can see it now......"the girl with the ruffled jacket", in the boots, wrapped up in the ruffled blanket resting her head on a pillow.....ruffled-of course!!!! thanks...i've missed you
Oh I love ruffles!! And those boots!! Ah!!
I wore ruffles even before the trend, and I even named my blog after ruffles! I guess I'm kind of obsessed... :o)
These ruffles would be a great way to add some flare to pre-existing clothes that haven't made it out of the closet in awhile. I have been wanting to add ruffle to the bottom of some plain curtains to add a little extra. You may have just inspired me to finally do it!
