This past week each of my daughters' schools celebrated apple week by incorporating crafts and games all centered around apples. Of course, I saw this as an opportunity to try out a new project...
Apple Pincushions
Wrapped in cellophane and tied with a coordinating bow,
they made perfect gifts for my girls' teachers
to let them know how much we appreciate them!
These were such a fun and easy project; I even made a fourth apple to add to the girls' play kitchen.
I think I might have to try making a pear next!

I was lucky enough to be the recipeint of one of these adorable pin cushions and I have to say it made me want to bust out my sewing machine that night!!!! I LOVE IT! Thank you Kristin for showing your appreciation your childrens teachers!!!!
Lucky teachers! By the time kids get to high school they don't bring cute gifts. :(
Those are so cute! I love the way you presented them!
Those are so cute, great idea for the teachers too!
wow, i wish your kids were in my class! i don't sew but those are still really cute!
CUTE!!! I am so excited about these! Too bad i'll have to wait another year before I am in the vicinity of my sewing machine or fabric. Also, when my students give me gifts it's usually nothing like a cute pincushion...more like freeze dried dog meat or tofu candy.
These look great - my pre schooler is talking about apples and I never even thought about giving the teachers somethin - you are too cute!
I love these! You make me want to run out to the fabric store...maybe after my garage sale!
Adorable-and the instructions are great. I'll be whipping one up tonight (my daughter is in the midst of Johnny Appleseed week). Thanks for sharing!
The apples are adorable. I love them.
I am having a giveaway on my blog. I hope you can stop by.

I made one lastnight using the link you gave and I love mine, but by happy and seasonally appropriate mistake, mine looks very much like a pumplin.
